Cacao has been used for its medicinal and spiritual properties in ancient cultures across Latin America, and is considered the food of the gods. When engaged with in ceremony and intentionally it can help us open our hearts and minds to explore new ideas and new selves. Deya will create a safe space to welcome the spirit of Cacao and introduce the group to her. Once the cacao has been served we will offer it to the Seven directions. Holding our intention with gratitude in our hearts, the group will drink their tonic, grounding their energies and connecting with Pacha Mama, mother Earth. As everyone sits in ceremony, Deya will lead the group through a series of affirmations, actions and meditations to connect with the spirit of Cacao, as well as activating its medicine in the group's bodies and in their awareness. Cacao relaxes the body and takes you through a process of homeostasis, helping the healthy flow of blood and oxygen in our system, and helping our endocrine system and mind to relax. This ancient plant serves as a bridge between our three brains; Head (our thoughts and actions), Heart (Love) and Stomach (our instincts and drives). Cacao is also considered by some as the return of the goddess Venus, the goddess of Love, whose purpose is to harmonise the Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine. As such it serves as a perfect precursor to exploring Conscious Relating. During the session, you will explore Conscious Relating with a session of short teachings and exercises.
A centering class for beginners and experienced students, this class presents asanas and breathing practices to cultivate physical and mental well-being. A centering class for beginners and experienced students, this class presents asanas and breathing practices to cultivate physical and mental well-being. These classes adapt to the individual rather than the individual to yoga; integrating sound, asana and mudra to bring the body and mind into balance and harmony. All levels welcome. Drawing its teachings from Yoga and Ayurveda Vedic knowledge, Kanga Yoga is a devotional, alignment‐based yoga practice, using the breath and sound to rediscover and rejuvenate the body and mind. The focus on asana alignment helps the practitioner explore and understand their body. When we physically align ourselves and hold an asana, we cause the whole body to open up, freeing ourselves from discomfort and easing the mind. In this process, we open our mind and intelligence. We not only open on a physical level but also on an energetic level. We open centers and unblock energy channels, allowing more energy flow.
Inspired by the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar, Swami Sivananda, and Yogacharya Sri Krishna Pattabhi Jois, each class is adapted to the students in the class, their body types and energy. According to the Ayurveda system, people have different body types and our bodily energies vary according to our lifestyles. It is vital to maintain balance in the body to stay healthy and to be able to transcend through the body and mind to connect with your spirit, your soul, your higher power and the source of your being – inner bliss. Ayurveda aims to maintain the health of the body by keeping it in balance with the 5 elements of life (earth, water, fire, air, and space). Yoga aims to free the mind from thought waves so that the practitioner can dive deep into the depths of their true nature.

Laughter yoga is a wonderful tool for shifting stuck energy and elevating emotional wellbeing. The endorphin release and the lowering of cortisol totally lift your mood and leave you feeling energised, high vibe and utterly fabulous! Laughter yoga is a series of laughter exercises that involve engaging your diaphragm to produce deep, hearty and loud belly laughter combined with deep belly breathing which brings more oxygen to your brain and body. The extended laughter releases endorphins and lowers the stress hormone cortisol bringing you to a place of pure JOY, the breath work brings you back into balance and ease. The session finishes with laughter meditation where you have the opportunity to really let your laughter flow; this is followed by a Reiki infused meditation to bring your body and mind back to a relaxed and grounded state. Reiki is a beautiful Japanese healing therapy which sets off the body's own ability to heal emotionally and mentally. It means ‘universal life energy’ and is a releaser, activator, energiser and transformer of energy. Reiki restores natural balance to the body, providing deep relaxation, a sense of peace and wellbeing. It reconnects you to source, aligning you with self acceptance, unconditional love and wholeness. The two modalities compliment each other perfectly and work beautifully together. No prior experience is needed, this workshop is suitable for all levels; all you need is a willingness to laugh.
Beckie's mindful movement and meditation sessions are packed full of incredible healing modalities to support overall well-being and they are perfect for the festival environment. They give participants an opportunity to explore moving with curiosity and love in ways that nourish their body, mind and soul. Beginning with a grounding exercise, to come into the body and begin to leave all thoughts of the outside world behind. Explore moving mindfully, releasing stress and stagnant energy, and strengthening connection with all the layers of the Self; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. The session includes tapping and conscious breathing. Tapping is a simple and effective way to interrupt and improve the flow of energy in the body and challenging thought patterns. Conscious breathing techniques are numerous and include improved mood and quality of sleep, lower blood pressure and better respiratory functioning, increased metabolism, better digestion, concentration and focus. It also supports nervous system regulation and also the development of nervous system resilience so that in the long term you are more able to manage stress and respond in helpful ways to difficult experiences. During the guided deep relaxation serotonin is released, which helps the practioner reach a transformational state of inner calm. Whether you have been practicing yoga for years or this is your first time, Beckie's aim is that participants leave feeling relaxed, nourished and inspired to explore what else they can do for their well-being.
