Scrap Dragon – brought to you by Passing Clouds

The Scrap Dragon challenge is to create out of nothing an entire civilization with its own infrastructure, culture, art and mechanics.

The Scrap Dragon Challenge

Conceived as a response to the vast piles of rubbish that are thrown away at each festival. They aim to inspire festival goers to see the potential in every piece of waste to become a useful item once more by inspiring creativity and working collectively.

The super team of trained professionals will be teaching skills and methods to transform our rubbish into wonderful creations of beauty. Within just a few days you will see buildings, sculptures, costumes, music and festivities arise from our waste.

You will be invited to get involved and let your creativity loose with the creation of musical instruments, artefacts and costumes (to name a few) to bring splendour, colour and music to the site. There will also be evening jam sessions.

In addition there will be a Scrap Shop where you can literally buy your own junk back – only now in the form of useful items from jewellery to sun shades, bags and lanterns. Revenue will be used to feed the army of scrap volunteers who will be welcome to join the team for meal times in their Scrap Café which uses only recycled materials for their stove, pots, pan and utensils.

The Scrap Dragon Team will also be creating modes of transport to ferry people across the lake and plan to organise an air bourne competition on the lake where people can test out their marvellous scrap salvaged flying machines.
